It's almost time to confer about the future
I'm looking forward to two conferences this spring. They happen to share a theme: What does the future hold?
I hope to see you there.

What's ahead for ACES: Lots of fiddling while Rome burns. Lots of pointing the finger and waiting for Somebody Else to ride in and fix all the problems. Lots of "copy editor" gnomes sitting around and trying to feel important. Lots of designing under the job title of "copy editor."
In other words, more of the same. Different year, same agenda for the "copy editor" gnomes.

rknil,
Take a closer look at the agenda, and you will see that this isn't a case of fiddling while Rome burns. Come to Denver to see for yourself.
Maybe I will see you there. I'm the 6-foot, 2-inch gnome.

This may be off topic, but the next apple has fallen from the almost barren tree. The Orlando Sentinel announced the retirement of Public Editor Manning Pynn. As a longtime subcriber and reader of my hometown paper I am watching as the paper loses another editor and very astute writer. Thank you Manning for all you tried to do for the readership.

Coco,
Thanks for the news tip. Here is Pynn's farewell column:
